As Found.Material: Concrete+Steel+CooperFurniture

As Found is a family of outdoor furniture pieces designed using components recovered from the construction industry. Based on the principles of Design for Disassembly, all elements can be easily dismantled and reused later.

This project is a collaboration with the architectural studio isla and was developed within the 110 Open Lab, organized by Chiara Ferrari.

The project began with the search for discarded materials that could be repurposed. From these materials, we designed the pieces.

We used a concept of concrete test blocks grouped in sets of three, tied together with a strap, as the base for:

    • Bench: made from a recovered Tramex, placed on two groups of concrete test blocks.
    • Small table: the most minimalist piece, consisting of a module of three tied test blocks.
    • Shower: made from leftover copper pipes, which serve as the support for a hose, using a "T" joint as the connector for the end of the hose.
    • Lamp: follows the same concept as the shower, using leftover pipes and employing a modular system that can be configured according to the user’s needs.
